We manufacture in Turkey, so treat the source accordingly — but a comparison that only flatters the author is useless to a buyer, and you will check it against other suppliers anyway. Here is where each origin genuinely wins, including the cases where we are not the right answer.
At very high volumes, Chinese unit costs on standardised products are difficult to beat. The component ecosystem is deeper, tooling for a bespoke design is often cheaper, and factories capable of extremely large single runs are more numerous. If you are placing repeat orders of thousands of identical units on a stable specification, and your schedule can absorb the transit, the landed cost frequently favours China.
The catch is that those economics assume scale and stability. They weaken quickly with smaller runs, frequent specification changes or short notice.

There is also a practical one that buyers consistently underrate: a factory visit from most European cities is a same-day flight, and the working day overlaps almost entirely. Problems get resolved in hours rather than across a time-zone gap.

Unit price is the least reliable number in the comparison. To compare honestly, build both quotes to the same point — goods delivered to your warehouse — and include freight, duty where applicable, insurance, customs clearance, and the financing cost of inventory in transit. Then add the things that only appear later: the cost of holding safety stock to cover a longer lead time, and the expected cost of remediation if a container arrives wrong.
Quality is not a country attribute. There are excellent factories and poor factories in both places, and the selection process matters far more than the flag. What differs is how expensive a mistake is to fix. A defective consignment that is two weeks away can often be reworked or replaced inside the same project programme. One that is six weeks away usually cannot.
If your project is genuinely in the first group, we would rather tell you than win an order that disappoints. If it is in the second, the numbers usually speak for themselves once they are built on the same basis.
